Robert Torres, MA

Robert Torres (he/him) is a Primary Therapist at Center for Healthy Sex. He is passionate about helping others identify and process feelings of shame and insecurity while working toward stronger attachments and cultivating a sense of authenticity and harmony.

Working from a client-centered approach, Robert prioritizes creating a safe and non-judgmental space for patients to deeply examine themselves and their relationships with honesty and compassion. Driven to foster healthy sexual expressions, his process is trauma-informed, queer-affirmative, and kink/fetish/poly-friendly. Blending elements of psychodynamic, CBT, and parts/inner child work, he works intimately with individuals and couples to engender discovery, empowerment, and transformation.

The foundation of his practice was developed at Airport Marina Counseling Service where he completed his clinical training. He holds an MA in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University Los Angeles where he received additional education under their vanguard LGBT-affirmative therapy specialization. He is an active member of the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists and the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.
